Guilt Causes Immense Insecurity by Rodney Howard Browne

Rodney Howard Browne explains that guilt leads to all kinds of mind games. Have you been truthfully shocked at some of the thoughts running thru your mind in occasions of intense regret? We’ll take a fast look at some results of this perilous “game.” First, guilt has the potential to shake our beliefs’. We may wonder at our unfortunate behavior and think, there is no way I’m able to truly be forgiven – God can’t still love me after I acted this way.

Guilt breeds fear – fear of discovery and implications, to name a pair. The Demon wants you to keep looking over your shoulder; that way, you cannot keep your eyes on where you’re going!

Guilt leads to the wish for punishment. We may start to isolate ourselves or drive folk away as we feel undeserving of their love. This is another devilish trap. Just as in war, an infantryman standing alone is a big fat target for the Enemy.

Rodney Howard Browne explains that guilt causes enormous insecurity. A guilty conscience naturally ends up in thinking, I am not quite good enough. If I were a better Christian, I would not have done that. Not surprising no-one likes me. If you are wrestling with the issue of guilt, I pray that you’ll leave your remorse where you are standing and attest these three things: I am special. I am loved. I am forgiven. Say them aloud as a prayer of praise to God: Say them regularly, letting the words sink into your consciousness.

Jesus wants you to be an active infantryman for Him. Don’t let the Enemy take you out of the battle.
